Fazoli's Recognizes Senior Volunteers for Their Many Contributions
LEXINGTON, Ky., May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Conceived during John F. Kennedy's presidency, Senior Corps connects seniors with volunteer opportunities, including help for homebound individuals through the Senior Companion Program, mentoring at risk and special needs children through the Foster Grandparent Program, and a range of activities in communities across the country managed by the RSVP Program. Seniors volunteering for these programs are honored for their service during Senior Corps Week, May 19-23. And this year, Fazoli's will help fuel the energy of senior volunteers with a free meal.
On Wednesday, May 21, 2014, Fazoli's will provide senior volunteers with a free Senior Meal with side salad. All that is required is a drink purchase, which through Fazoli's Club 62 program is just $1. To take advantage of this offer, volunteers simply need to say "I am a senior volunteer" when ordering. The offer is valid at all participating Fazoli's restaurants across the country.
Jon Quinn, Fazoli's Vice President of Marketing, is pleased to give back to the thousands of senior volunteers who themselves are giving back to others every day. "Senior Corps volunteers provided an estimated 96.2 million hours of service last year," said Quinn. "In dollars, that equates to $2.16 billion in labor according to federal labor department calculations. We are honored to offer these volunteers a free meal, and we raise a fork for all that they do."
Recently, Fazoli's rolled out a special program for all of its senior guests. The program, called Club 62, allows seniors aged 62 or over to pay just $4 on Wednesdays. The offer is for any Club 62 Menu item. In addition, small drinks on any day of the week are just $1. Seniors can take advantage of these discounts by obtaining a Club 62 card, which is available at participating Fazoli's locations.
An American family favorite for more than 20 years, Fazoli's ranked #2 overall among large national fast-food chains in the prestigious Zagat Survey. With a premium menu of freshly prepared Italian entrees, oven-baked sandwiches and salads, a new service style featuring table service and a contemporary new restaurant design, Fazoli's is expanding throughout the country. Founded in Lexington, Ky. in 1988, Fazoli's was acquired by Sun Capital Partners in 2006.
