BIRMINGHAM, Ala., June 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With a string of successful spring and early summer sales behind them, Birmingham-based auctioneer Jack Granger and his team are setting their sights on a series of auctions in metro Birmingham and the Cullman area.

At 1 p.m. Thursday, June 26, Granger Thagard Auctions will sell three commercial properties in downtown Cullman, a 62-acre riverfront retreat in Hanceville, and five acres of land on Alabama 69 in Cullman County's Dodge City. All three auctions will be conducted at Dodge City Town Hall.

"The properties in downtown Cullman are literally a stone's throw from the Post Office and the Civic Center, and the land in Hanceville is incredible rolling countryside with 2,235 feet of frontage on the Brogden River," said Granger. The auction of the Dodge City land will begin at 3 p.m.

"When people start to gain more confidence in the economy and the real estate market, they tend to turn more to auctions to ensure that they get the current market value for their homes and land, and I think that's being reflected in the level of activity," said Granger. "Of course, it's important to make sure the property has been properly marketed to ensure that it draws the strongest possible pool of bidders."

Two early July auctions – of land in Clay and a home in Hoover's excellent Green Valley neighborhood – will round out the upcoming offerings.

At 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, Granger will sell approximately 1.25 acres of property on Old Springville Road, near Clay Elementary School and Clay-Chalkville Elementary School. And at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 10, the company will auction the Hoover home.

"The home is very close to Hoover Country Club and Star Lake, just a couple of minutes from U.S. 31 and maybe five minutes to the Galleria," said Granger.

Individuals seeking additional information on the upcoming auctions may visit gtauctions.com or call 205-326-0833.

Granger Thagard, based in Birmingham, sells homes, land, commercial properties and other high-value real estate throughout Alabama.
