CHICAGO, Sept. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Chicago Cultural Mile Association announced that Dirk Lohan has accepted a seat on its Board of Directors. "The Chicago Cultural Mile is excited to welcome Mr. Lohan as a new board member. His enormous influence and deep roots in Chicago's cultural and civic community will be invaluable to our organization," according to J.R. Davis, President of the Chicago Cultural Mile.
Mr. Lohan is co-founder of Lohan Anderson and is responsible for the architectural firm's designs and long-term development. As the architect for projects as diverse as the lakefront marine mammal complex addition to Shedd Aquarium and the McDonald`s Corp. office campus in Oak Brook, Lohan has had the same kind of influence on the landscape of the metropolitan area as his famous grandfather, architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

"Lohan joins a leadership team at the Chicago Cultural Mile Association that will continue to share their unique perspective, diverse talents and unparalleled leadership skills with our organization," Davis concluded.
The Chicago Cultural Mile Association is an independent not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of the unique strengths and diverse offerings available to visitors frequenting the strategic Michigan Avenue location from the river south to Roosevelt Road and eastward to the lake. The association's goal is to affect streetscape improvements, market and brand the Chicago Cultural Mile as a destination avenue, create networking opportunities for businesses and institutions along the Mile and build a premier merchant-based advocacy group for citizens and stakeholders of the district.
